Young Inter goalkeeper Filip Stankovic and midfielder Gaetano Oristanio are close to being promoted to the Eredivisie with Volendam and the Nerazzurri are considering their futures.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who note that the Dutch side could secure top flight status as early as next week, with three matches left to go in the Eerste Divisie.

Stankovic and Oristanio joined Volendam on loan last summer, with the pair following in the footsteps of Samuele Mulattieri who enjoyed a successful loan spell in the Netherlands with Volendam the previous season.

The aim was to get the two youngsters regular playing time in the senior game, as Volendam were happy to offer the pair a prominent role in the team at a young age.

Things have gone very well on the pitch for Volendam this season, with Stankovic and Oristanio both playing important roles in getting the team to where they are now.

The Dutch side have a seven-point advantage over third place with three matches to go and so should be right on track to secure automatic promotion.

Volendam could be ready to continue to hand regular starts to both Stankovic and Oristanio in the Eredivisie, and the Nerazzurri could be more than happy with this as it would give both of the young players top flight experience.

The pair’s performances could also attract transfer interest, however, and it cannot be excluded that Inter will listen to significant offers for their signatures.
