Investcorp will make getting a new stadium constructed in Milan alongside Inter a major priority if they complete a purchase of AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, who report that the Bahrain-based fund would see speeding up the process of getting the stadium built as key.

Investcorp have been linked with a purchase of the Rossoneri from current owners Elliott Management, and part of their interest stems from the belief that the value and profitability of the club could be increased by making it more of a global brand.

A cornerstone of their project for the Rossoneri would be to get the new stadium built so that they can keep up and compete at the top level of European football with increased revenues.

As such, if such a takeover were to happen, the new owners at Milan would strongly push to speed up the timeline for the new stadium.
