Inter’s sold-out Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against AC Milan has set a new gate receipt record for the Coppa Italia.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the takings of over €4 million from the completely sold-out San Siro are an all-time record for the competition, including finals.

The Nerazzurri will face their city rivals in the last derby of the season, and it is perhaps the most hotly-anticipated of the quartet, coming near the climax of the season and seeing the teams play for a place in the Coppa Italia final.

The San Siro can now welcome fans back at full capacity with capacity restrictions having been lifted in Italy as of the beginning of this month.

The stadium has sold out for Inter’s clash with the Rossoneri this evening, and this has seen the fate receipt total around €4 million for the match.
