Inter look to be back in full control of their fate in the race for all three major domestic competitions in Italian football after they reached the final of the Coppa Italia by beating AC Milan 3-0 yesterday evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who note that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has the chance to end his first season as coach at the club in dominant fashion.

Inter won the Supercoppa Italiana against Juventus in January, and at the time it looked like it was likely to be only the first trophy of their season.

The Nerazzurri had a commanding lead in the Serie A table and also looked like the de facto favourites for the Coppa Italia as the strongest side in Italian football.

However, a major dip in form raised serious doubts about this Nerazzurri team’s ability to compete for trophies beyond the Supercoppa.

The team faced a decisive juncture in their season on returning from the international break, and with three wins from three in Serie A and having booked their place in the Coppa Italia final against either Juventus or Fiorentina they look back in the driver’s seat.
