There is no question that AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu was in an offside position during the Rossoneri’s disallowed second-half goal against Inter, but doubts remain if he was affecting play.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who argue that it is not clear that the Frenchman impeded the line of sight of Nerazzurri goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

Milan thought that they had gotten themselves back into the game with a goal midway through the second half of yesterday evening’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg, but were disappointed to see it ruled out by VAR.

On review, the video assistant had decided that Ismael Bennacer’s effort from outside the box could not stand as Kalulu had been obstructing the vision of Handanovic and potentially stopping him from getting to the strike.

The offside is completely beyond debate, but for Tuttosport it is very questionable whether Kalulu really prevents Handanovic from seeing the shot in time to save it.
