Legendary former Nerazzurri midfielder Nicola Berti believes that Inter looked completely superior to AC Milan in their 3-0 Coppa Italia win yesterday evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster 1 Station Radio, Berti praised his former team’s performance effusively after they saw off their city rivals to book their place in the Coppa Italia final.

Inter needed a convincing display to get the better of a Rossoneri side who they’d failed to beat at the last three times of asking this season, drawing twice and losing once between the league and the Coppa Italia.

This is exactly what arrived, particularly in the first half when the Nerazzurri overran Milan in virtually every area of the pitch and deserved their 2-0 advantage going in at halftime.

Berti was very pleased with what he saw from his old side in the match, stating that “Milan were absolutely no match. They say they also played well, but it seemed that they were far away from Inter.”

“But then, if you play well and lose by three goals, it means that something is wrong,” he added

“There was that episode that contested the goal disallowed for offside, but there was nothing to it, it was a well-deserved victory for Inter,” he argued.

“I’m convinced that we won’t lose again,” Berti predicted optimistically, “we’ll win the Scudetto. The only thing I’m not sure about is winning the Coppa Italia, we’ll fight for that too though.”

Berti then looked ahead to this Saturday’s Serie A clash with Roma, a potentially massive match for the Nerazzurri’s title charge.

“We don’t have to stop for a second,” he said. “Respect for Mourinho, but we have to win them all, I don’t expect a draw, we’re in great form.”
