Inter forward Edin Dzeko is likely to start the match against his former side AS Roma on Saturday evening after being rested in midweek, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bosnian forward will be fresh to face his former side after only playing the last 20 minutes against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night.

He netted against AS Roma in his first game against them since leaving the club when Inter travelled to the Stadio Olimpico in December 2021. That game finished 3-0 to the Nerazzurri against a heavily depleted AS Roma side.

He will be hoping to repeat the achievement when Jose Mourinho brings his side to the San Siro on Saturday evening. It is not yet clear whether Joaquin Correa or Lautaro Martinez will be the player partnering him in the attack later this week.
