Former Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo has said that he would not rule out Suning selling the club in the near future, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with FCInter1908, the former executive took a question on the ownership situation at Inter right now and he admitted that the current financial projections at the club are not good and he would not rule out a sale in the future.

“I recognise the Suning Group for having brought Inter back to a place where they can win the title, but I am a financial man and I have to read the financial statements. I see a very significant debt. I don’t know if the Suning Group has the necessary financial strength to be able to continue managing Inter. I would not rule out a possible sale on the horizon.”

On whether former owner Massimo Moratti could return or not, he was very clear that that will not be happening: “I categorically exclude it! Everything has its time, throughout history.”

Inter face AS Roma on Saturday evening and Ernesto Paolillo thinks it will be a very complicated game for Inter against a tough opponent.

“It will be a very complicated match against a tough opponent. Everyone says that Inter have the easiest schedule: I don’t agree at all. Mourinho will do everything to beat Inter. He wants the best for his Roma.”

On the Scudetto race, he said that he can not fully decide who is the favourite to win it just yet but he of course hopes that Inter become champions again.

“In my opinion, Inter, Milan and Napoli have the same chances. As a nerazzurro, it is obvious that you support Inter. But, to date, I can’t say – with certainty – if Inzaghi’s team will win the title.”
