Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini has said that Inter’s season completely changed when they beat Juventus in Turin earlier this month, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Kiss Kiss, via FCInternews, the defender who played 180 times for the Nerazzurri took stock of their current situation after reaching the final of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night.

He feels that the win at the Allianz Stadium totally changed Inter’s fortunes and it shows how quickly things can change in football.

“Things can change quickly, I think that Inter’s championship has completely changed mentally after the win in Turin against Juve.”

He then explained that the dip in form that Inter suffered for the first part of 2022 can happen to any of the teams at the top and they must all remember that there is still five games left to be played in the title race.

“They had a good game on Tuesday against Milan, but it is a different Inter that has passed the negative moment. What happened to Inzaghi’s team can also happen to the others upfront. There are still five games to go and some chances of victory remain for Napoli.

“Three weeks ago, I thought Napoli were the most likely to win because they were playing better than everyone else and had enthusiasm. It’s a pity, but it can happen that the Milanese slow down and Napoli can still make it if it always wins.”

Inter are now in a position where if they win all of their remaining games, they are champions regardless of what the others do.
