Former Inter winger Francesco Moriero has said that Inter must beat AS Roma on Saturday evening and said the Scudetto is between the two Milan sides, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

Speaking during an interview with Corriere dello Sport, the man who played for both AS Roma and Inter during his career revealed his thoughts on the upcoming fixture at San Siro.

He feels Inter must win but AS Roma have an advantage coming into the game: “In fact, these are two clubs where I had memorable moments as a player. Tough match for both: Inter are favourites and must win, Roma have the advantage of playing for two results. I can’t have preferences between Inter and Roma, I have too many friends on both sides.”

Francesco Moriero also talked about what it was like to play with Ronaldo whilst he was at Inter in the late 1990s.

“It was a privilege to play with the best footballer in the world. Without detracting from people like Baggio or Totti. Ronnie was Ronnie.”

Simone Inzaghi has been praised heavily for the work that he has done at Inter this season and Francesco Moriero believes that he has done a good job. He does point out though that Antonio Conte had already created a winning structure that Simone Inzaghi inherited.

“He’s done well, yes. But he inherited a structure organized by Antonio Conte and was able to continue the path. Mourinho found a disastrous situation in Trigoria. For me, he can still go to the Champions League.”

As for the Scudetto fight this season that is coming to its conclusion, Francesco Moriero feels that it is only between Inter and AC Milan now.

“It’s a two-way fight with Milan. I’m sorry for Napoli, who seemed well equipped. But they have lost too many points. You can’t go wrong in this championship.”
