Former Inter striker and sporting director Marco Branca has said that AS Roma will arrive at San Siro and play with conviction against the Nerazzurri, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport, via FCInternews, Marco Branca explained that even though Inter have found their form again in recent weeks, they will have to be aware of a confident AS Roma team on Saturday night.

“They’ll play with more conviction because, even if the same goes for Inter, I think they have a more aware and focused team. If Inter have found themselves again, Roma needed a period of shock to be where they are now. They will arrive with the right spirit.”

Marco Branca was the sporting director at Inter when Jose Mourinho became the head coach and when asked what he was like to work with when it came to transfers, he said that the Portuguese coach left the club to do as they wished.

“If you mean that he dealt in a nagging way with the transfer market, no. There were daily interviews to talk about player profiles, but he always left the club very free. As for the attention to other things, three days would not be enough: he is a witty man, he thinks of anything to take advantage of. He is more than complete, he was always stimulating because every day he had a different proposal.”

Marco Branca also talked about Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca who has been heavily linked with both AC Milan and Inter. He feels that the player would be good for both Milan sides as he is a modern striker.

“Both at Inter and Milan, I think he is one of the strongest Italian players. He has good strength and technique, he has the qualities to express himself at high levels. I think he is the most modern one.”
