Federico Dimarco could start on the left of Inter’s back three in this evening’s Serie A clash with Roma, though Alessandro Bastoni is the slight favourite ahead of him.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the choice of whether to go with Dimarco or Bastoni in defense is the major doubt for Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.

Dimarco has made several appearances in Inter’s starting eleven this season, normally on the left of the backline rather than at left-wingback, most recently in the 2-0 win against Hellas Verona.

Should the coach feel that Bastoni is not ready to start against the Giallorossi for fitness issues or decide that Dimarco is a better tactical fit for the match then he could hand the 24-year-old the start, though Bastoni is slight favourite.

The Corriere’s complete predicted starting eleven is as follows:

INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Dzeko, Lautaro.
