Former Bayern Munich fitness coach Riccardo Proetti feels that Roma played well against Inter but were outclassed by the Nerazzurri in Inter’s 3-1 win yesterday evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, he gave the view that the Nerazzurri ultimately showed their form and quality to get the better of a Giallorossi team who were far from poor.

Inter and Roma played out a balanced opening to their Serie A clash at the San Siro, with each side enjoying some spells with possession to get settled but neither really taking control or creating any dangerous chances.

Meanwhile, the Giallorossi had a strong end to the match as they made one final push to try and get a result and found the back of the net through Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

In between these phases, however, the Nerazzurri showed all their quality to score three goals and see off their opponents to take the three points.

Proetti saw it this way, stating that “Up until 0-0 I saw a good Roma. They faced Inter who are in excellent form.”

“After the 2-0 they started thinking ahead to Thursday’s match,” he said, referring to the Giallorossi’s Europa Conference League.

“I’m happy anyway because Mourinho’s impact can be seen in the fact that, despite the result, Roma attacked until the end,” he added.
