Former Inter defender Daniele Adani believes that Inter are now the team best-placed to go on and win the Scudetto this season.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, Adani gave the view that the Nerazzurri have now pulled away as the clear favourites for the Serie A title.
Inter’s 3-1 win over Roma marked a major obstacle overcome in the pursuit of the Serie A title, with the Giallorossi having been the Nerazzurri’s toughest opponent left in their run-in on paper.
There is still plenty of room for more twists and turns, but it could now be Inter’s title to lose given that they are coming up against a sequence of teams from the bottom half of the table.
It will become clearer in the coming weeks whether the Nerazzurri can make the advantage they hold count, but Adani is now confident in saying that they are clear as the favourites.
“We must let ourselves give credit to Simone Inzaghi, a coach who is doing very well,” he said. “He has the team playing well, they’re the main contender to win the title.”
“Yesterday they played an excellent match to follow up on victory in the Coppa Italia,” he added.
