Former Inter, Lazio, and Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo feels that the win over Juventus earlier this month was a decisive moment in the Nerazzurri putting their run of miserable form behind them.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Crespo gave the view that the Nerazzurri’s bad run was bookended by their loss to AC Milan in the derby and then their triumph against the Bianconeri.

Inter endured their worst run of results for the entire season by far in February and March by far, taking seven points from seven matches in Serie A and also exiting the Champions League against Liverpool.

All of this was kicked off after they threw away a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to the Rossoneri in a Milan derby at the start of February which could have seen them take a big step towards the title with a win or even a draw.

Meanwhile, the match away to the Bianconeri at the start of this month had been made virtually must-win by the circumstances of that run of form, and the three points have set the team back on a winning run with major momentum.

“Inter are very strong, compact and concrete,” Crespo said. “Better equipped, and they showed it also against Mou’s Roma.”

He continued that “The hangover from losing the derby in the league has already vanished after the victory at Juve.”
