Inter defender Stefan de Vrij had a mostly solid night in yesterday’s 3-1 Serie A win over Roma though he did have a couple moments where he looked shaky.

The Dutchman received solid grades in the player ratings for the match in Italian media, as highlighted by L’Interista, and was praised for restricting the influence of Giallorossi striker Tammy Abraham.

Abraham has been one of the most dangerous strikers in Serie A since joining from Chelsea last summer, and he will have been one of the major attacking threats identified by the Nerazzurri.

However, when the Englishman did get the ball or find himself in a threatening position, de Vrij kept his composure to keep him from finding any dangerous chances.

However, the Dutchman was partially at fault for Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s late goal for Roma, and also lost Gianluca Mancini in an aerial duel which gave the Giallorossi a golden chance to take the lead in the first half.

TuttoMercatoWeb, L’Interista, and the Gazzetta dello Sportall gave de Vrij scores of 6/10, whilst the Corriere dello Sport deemed his performance worthy of 7/10.
