Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu gave his former club AC Milan reason for regret with his impressive display in yesterday evening’s 3-1 win over Roma in Serie A.

The Turk was given glowing reviews in the player ratings for the match across Italian media, as reported by L’Interista, and the nature of his display will not have gone unnoticed by the Rossoneri.

Calhanoglu joined Inter on a free transfer from their city rivals last summer after his contract expired, with the Turk identified as the right man to replace the stricken Christian Eriksen.

The 28-year-old has become an influential presence in an Inter shirt, and yesterday evening put in one of his most accomplished displays to wrestle control of a midtable battle which was crucial in a title race against his former side.

L’Interista gave Calhanoglu a grade of 7/10, whilst TuttoMercatoWeb and the Gazzetta dello Sport went to 7.5/10 and the Correire dello Sport went as high as 8/10.
