Inter have gotten to work again on extending the contract of defender Stefan de Vrij.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri are starting to consider staying on with the Dutchman past the end of the season in recent weeks.

De Vrij has been linked with an exit from the Nerazzurri during the summer transfer window, with the 30-year-old a player who the club would consider cashing in on as they aim to meet important financial targets.

However, they are also considering the possibility of keeping him in the team, and over recent weeks have been working on the possibility of agreeing a new deal with de Vrij.

The defender’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June 2023 and the aim of the Nerazzurriis to definitely avoid going into the final year of his deal without an agreement in place on a new contract.

However, it is not out of the question that the Nerazzurri could agree such an extension with him.
