Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu was the Nerazzurri’s outstanding player in their 3-1 win over Roma in Serie A yesterday, according to Italian media.

The 28-year-old received a 7.5/10 score in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who named him as the best player on the pitch and suggested AC Milan will regret letting him go.

Calhanoglu provided the assist for Denzel Dumfries’ first-half opener with an inch-perfect through-ball on the counter as well as for Lautaro Martinez’s third goal from a corner.

These flashes of creativity were only the tip of the iceberg for Calhanoglu’s display, however, as the Turk hardly put a foot wrong to keep the team ticking over and never gave the Giallorossi a moment’s peace in the midfield battle.

Meanwhile, first-half goalscorers Dumfries and Marcelo Brozovic were also awarded 7.5/10 scores for their excellent displays throughout the match.
