Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries has joined legendary former captain Giacinto Facchetti in a rare and impressive statistic in just his first season playing for the Nerazzurri.

The Dutchman opened the scoring against Roma yesterday evening, having done the same in the reverse fixture, and this made him just the second ever Nerazzurri defender to score home and away against the Giallorossi in a single Serie A season.

This was pointed out by football statistics account Opta in a tweet, which read “2 – Denzel Dumfries is only the second Inter defender to have scored in both the seasonal Serie A meetings against AS Roma after Giacinto Facchetti in the 1968/69 campaign. Untamed.”
