Former Atalanta striker Simone Tiribocchi believes that Inter were clearly the side on top in their Serie A win over Roma on Saturday evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, Tiribocchi gave his analysis of the match and argued that once the Nerazzurri had broken through they showed themselves to be clearly superior to the Giallorossi.

Inter didn’t start of their match against Roma at a blistering pace, as both teams felt out the match and had spells with possession without really creating any clear-cut chances.

However, the turning point in the match came when the Giallorossi missed a decent headed chance through Gianluca Mancini and then right away Inter scored from a lighting counterattack at the other end.

From then on, Inter never looked back, and in the view of Tiribocchi, it was clear from what he saw on the pitch that they were the better side on the night.

“Inter are a team who are physically strong, they force the issue,” he said. “But they also won with clarity – a balanced match at first, but then after the first goal Inter showed clear superiority.”

Asked whether he thought the nature of the Nerazzurri’s goals showed a similarity to how they scored under Antonio Conte, Tiribocchi gave the view that “Under Conte they played with more width.”
