Inter President Steven Zhang has informed the club directors that at least one major player from the squad will be sold this summer and that they must make a profit in the transfer market.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the President has set the target of a total net profit of €60-70 million in the summer transfer market and slashing the wage bill by €10-15 million.

Zhang is still in Milan where he will remain until the end of the season, keenly following the team’s pursuit of the Serie A and Coppa Italia titles.

The President is in regular contact with the directors as well as with coach Simone Inzaghi, with whom his relationship has strengthened significantly over the past months.

Zhang is also waiting to see how the the season goes as the valuations of many players could rise in the event that they win the trophies they are seeking over the next few weeks.

The financial objectives are clear as they were last summer, and even if the situation is less drastic than it was last time around, there is a need to finish the window with a big profit and selling one of the most valuable players in the squad will be the only way.
