Legendary former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi feels that Inter produced an excellent display to see off Roma 3-1 in Serie A over the weekend, singling out their second goal in particular.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, Tacchinardi praised the style of football that the Nerazzurri showed against the Giallorossi, particularly for the quick and precise nature of their forward passing.

Inter and Roma played out a fairly cagey opening to their match on Saturday, with both sides feeling out the match with spells in possession but neither team carving out any clear-cut opportunities to score.

However, as the match went on the Nerazzurri began to find more assurance, and they broke through with two fluid passing moves from one end of the pitch to the other, finished off by Denzel Dumfries and Marcelo Brozovic.

Tacchinardi was very impressed by what he saw from Inter throughout the match with their opener being a highlight for him.

He said that Inter are “Back to a style of play that I like tp see, back to playing at the levels they were in December.”

“The first goal, for those who love football, is of the highest level,” he opined. “All thpse fast passes, vertical. It’s a team that look physically and mentally strong.”

“They always have been,” the former midfielder added. “In their moment of bad form I also said that they seemed drained mentally and physically.”

“I think that after their match against Juve their mentality has changed significantly,” he went on. “There had been a bad moment in their season in which I had criticized Inzaghi.”

“Because he was without Brozovic and they were really struggling,” he continued. “But in the difficulty this team proved to be Simone’s Inter, who like to play. Inter are back and they are strong.”
