Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is firmly committed to leaving his club during the summer transfer window, and move back to Inter remains his number one option.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero, who report that the 28-year-old’s preference is a return to the Nerazzurri, although another move could also be possible.

Lukaku has not settled in at all since joining Chelsea last summer, showing little form in front of goal, not being a good fit for the team, and having a frosty relationship with coach Thomas Tuchel.

The Belgian already feels that it is time to end his second spell with the Premier League club, although it is less certain where he will make the switch to.

The striker has been open about regretting leaving Inter and hoping for a return so that would be the priority option for him, but it is also possible that he could move to another major European club as part of the domino effect of major striker signings.
