Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is a driving force behind the Nerazzurri’s interest in Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic for the summer transfer window.

This according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, who claim that the Nerazzurri are working to sign the 32-year-old this summer.

Pjanic is not in the plans at Barcelona for next season when he returns from his loan spell with Besiktas, and they will be in search of a new club for the Bosnian.

The Nerazzurri could move for the midfielder, as they are aiming to bolster their midfield options and especially to bring in a player capable of backing up Marcelo Brozovic in the squad.

CEO Marotta has been a major admirer of Pjanic since signing him to Juventus from Roma in the summer of 2016, and could decide to bring him to another club in the form of Inter given that he will certainly be available from the Blaugranas.
