Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is hoping to make the switch to Inter this summer with a departure from the Biancocelesti on the horizon.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero, who report that the 34-year-old is targeting a reunion with former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi at the Nerazzurri.
Acerbi looks lose to the exit door at Lazio, with the defender not fitting in with coach Maurizio Sarri on a stylistic level and having a fractured relationship with the club’s supporters.
The 34-year-old’s error to cost the team the match late on in their 2-1 loss to AC Milan on Sunday has pushed him further away from the Biancocelesti, though his destination is not yet known.
For his part, Acerbi reportedly prefers a move to the Nerazzurri, although AC Milan are also interested in signing him, as are Juventus who could offer Daniele Rugani as part of a swap deal.
