Inter are considering a move for Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic this summer as a backup option to Marcelo Brozovic in their squad.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the 32-year-old is a serious consideration for them given his suitability to fill in for Brozovic.

Signing a midfielder who is capable of playing in the role of Brozovic is a priority for the Nerazzurri during the summer transfer window given how they have faltered when forced to do without the Croat this season.

Pjanic played a similar deep-lying role during his time at Juventus, and the Nerazzurri could feel that his stylistic profile would make him the right option to give Brozovic a deputy in their squad.

The Bosnian does not look to have a future at Barcelona, though it remains to be seen if Inter would be able to agree on a deal with the player and with the Blaugranas.
