Inter choked away against Bologna losing 2-1 at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara and shifted the momentum in the Serie A title race to AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri started well after Ivan Perisic broke the deadlock after some individual magic in the third minute and Inter dominated for 20 minutes creating chances but failed to score the second.

Instead Marko Arnautovic equalized against the run of play in the 28th minute before Inter took over towards the end of the half.

In the second half Inter dominated from start to finish but failed to create those clear cut chances before Andrei Radu made a howler that will go down in Inter history together with a certain Vratislav Gresko, 2-1 Bologna game over.

Andrei Radu – 3: Only played 90 minutes this season but the schoolboy error in such an important moment cannot be down to rust or lack of match fitness.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: No difficult players to deal with so Skriniar played most of this game pushing into Bologna’s half. His performance did not deserve a loss.

Stefan De Vrij – 6: Started off the game very well and was thinking one step ahead. Not much work to do but he could not make a positive impact on the game

Federico Dimarco – 6: Dimarco was great going forward and started each half on fire. Struggled defensively against Arnautovic. Did not make most of the shots.

Denzel Dumfries – 5.5: Always in the right position but very timid on the ball when it was time to make a crucial decision. Missed guilt-edged chances all game.

Nicolo Barella – 5: Barella had an unusually poor game. His passing did not work, his positioning was not proactive, and he lost his mind around the hour mark.

Marcelo Brozovic – 5.5: First game as captain for Brozo. Unfortunately, it did not end well. Looked tired and could not use the vast open spaces and time he had.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 6: Looked great in the first half. His passes and the vision he provides are irreplaceable. On another day he would have had a couple of assists

Ivan Perisic – 6.5: What a start to the game for Ivan who calmed Inter down in the third minute. Tired as the game went on and could barely run at the end.

Lautaro Martinez – 5: Missed at least three chances that he would bury on any other day. Needs to be more clinical to go to the next level. The misses will haunt him

Joaquin Correa – 5: Did not start the game well and apart from a few cute touches nothing really went his way. Indecisive and timid on the ball. No impact at all

Edin Dzeko – 5: Did Edin play tonight? Should have at least had a height advantage against Medel. Woefully out of form and out of steam. Needs to rest

Alexis Sanchez – 5.5: Tried his best but could not bring the quality needed to unlock a stubborn Bologna defence. Should have probably started the game tonight

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6: Thrown on for Dimarco to use him on the back post from set pieces. Inter only won one free kick and DD came closest in the second half.

Matteo Darmian – N/A: One minute after he came on, that Radu howler happened. Struggled to get a grip of things and even got the most basic things wrong.

Roberto Gagliardini – N/A: The sequence where Bologna gets to Inter’s box in the 80th minute started from his poor header towards Skriniar that went for a throw in.

Simone Inzaghi – 5: With Handanovic out at the last minute, Inzaghi was starting off on the back foot. Then Bologna scored with their first shot. Then a howler.

Daniele Doveri – 6: The whistle blew a bit too much for soft fouls. No major decisions to make though and he kept control of the game for the entire 90 mins.

Inter – 5 : Inter might have probably given the Scudetto to their city rivals tonight. Mentally this is a massive disappointment to recover from. Poor.
