Inter backup goalkeeper Andrei Radu was in tears after yesterday evening’s 2-1 loss to Bologna in Serie A, but has the backing of his teammate despite the prominent role played by his late error.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri players are supporting Radu though hoping that his error doesn’t prove to cost them the title.

Radu looked disconsolate after his lapse in concentration which allowed Nicola Sansone to score Bologna’s winning goal, and was accompanied by teammates to the locker room as he was visibly in tears after the match.

A draw would have taken the fate of the Scudeto out of Inter’s hands, but a loss was an even worse result as it gives AC Milan some margin for error now that they can afford to draw a match and still be mathematically guaranteed the title.

Radu appeared to be feeling the full force of the significance of his error, though teammates Federico Dimarco and Milan Skriniar among others were on hand to console him, and Denzel Dumfries protected him from cameras.

The team are not turning on their backup goalkeeper in a difficult moment, but they are aware of how costly his error could prove and hoping that they can turn it around.
