Inter wingback Ivan Perisic appeared to have been fouled in the buildup to Bologna’s equalizing goal in yesterday evening’s Serie A clash.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who argue that the contact by Rossoblu midfielder Roberto Soriano on the Croat was a foul.

Perisic and the entire Nerazzurri team as well as coach Simone Inzaghi appealed for a foul after Marko Arnautovic’s equalizing goal during the first half of yesterday’s match, and the coach was even booked for his protests.

The 33-year-old had possession of the ball and the Bologna midfielder came in with a late challenge which appeared to unbalance him, though in real time referee Daniele Doveri waved play on.

There was a brief VAR check before the referee officially awarded the goal and then restarted play, with VAR Michael Fabbri quickly giving Doveri word that there was no reason to disallow the goal.

However, a look at the footage from the incident suggests that there could have been a clear foul by Soriano committed in the sequence.
