Italian journalist Paolo Condo feels that Inter’s loss against Bologna yesterday evening represents the same kind of missed opportunity as failing to score a penalty kick.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Condo gave the view that the Nerazzurri have slipped up and in the process handed the initiative to city rivals AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri could have gone top of the table and set themselves up to finally run away with the Scudetto over the rest of the season if they had managed to beat Bologna.

Even a draw would have still put significant pressure on AC Milan at the top of the table, as they would not necessarily have been able to afford any dropped points over their remaining matches.

Instead, from a position where they had looked poised to take the advantage in the title race, the Nerazzurri have slipped up and seen their momentum come to a screeching halt, and Condo feels that this was like missing a spot kick.

“The four matches to be played are like four penalties in a shootout,” he said.”Now Inter have made their mistake and if the Rossoneri don’t make a mistake of their own they win.”
