Inter’s Ionut Radu’s Agent Oscar Damiani: “Not Playing Doesn’t Help, Mistake Will Not Stain His Career”

The agent of Inter goalkeeper Ionut Radu has said that not playing regularly does not help the player and that the mistake against Bologna will not stain his career, according to a report in the Italian print media today. 

Speaking during an interview with Corriere della Sera today, Oscar Damiani explained that not playing regular football does not help Ionut Radu to be at the top of his game when needed and now he must show that he can bounce back from the mistake.

“I don’t want to justify anything, but never playing doesn’t help a goalkeeper. Now Radu has to react and show that he has character, in these situations you can really see who you are and if you have the attributes: Radu has them.”

Ionut Radu had only played one game all season for Inter and then when he had to fill in for Samir Handanovic away at Bologna on Wednesday night, he made an error that decided the game in Bologna’s favour.

It was put to Oscar Damiani that Samir Handanovic did not approach Ionut Radu to console him after the game. His response was to reiterate the respect between the two players.

“The mistake will not stain his career. Did Handanovic not approach him after the match? But there is esteem between the two.”
