Inter could choose to modernise the existing San Siro or build their own new stadium if AC Milan decide to leave the shared project, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are having to prepare for the fact that Investcorp may want to have a separate stadium for the Rossoneri, forcing Inter to do the same.

The Nerazzurri don’t expect this to happen because the timeframe for when the clubs will start earning money from the new stadium is around 4-5 years whereas it will be around 10-12 years for a solo stadium.

Inter have to be prepared and one option involves modernising the existing San Siro stadium but that would be a complicated financial arrangement.

Assuming that would be too difficult to manage, it seems likely that Inter will have to find a space to build their own stadium just like AC Milan may do.
