Inter have been struggling all season with the fact that their backup players are not at a high enough standard, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, players such as Matias Vecino, Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez and now Ionut Radu have not performed as well as Simone Inzaghi would have hoped when they are called upon.

Of those listed, Alexis Sanchez is probably the one that has made the most impact given he scored the winning goal in the Supercoppa Italiana final in January against Juventus. Four goals in 24 appearances is less than Inter will have hoped for.

Matias Vecino has had a slightly injury hit campaign but when he has been given a chance by Simone Inzaghi. He was particularly ineffectual when asked to take the place of Marcelo Brozovic when he was injured for a couple of matches.
