Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that the most important thing for the team now is reasserting themselves following their disappointing Serie A loss to Bologna over the week.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Adani emphasized putting that stumble behind them right away with plenty still to play for in a Serie A season with many twists and turns.

The Nerazzurri have little time to dwell on the nature of their loss to Bologna, with the team already returning to action against Udinese this evening.

The match will represent an opportunity to get back to winning ways, but could also see their bad moment deepen into a crisis if they are to fail to take three points away from Friuli.

Adani feels that the key thing is that right now things are totally up in the air, stating that he has “No predictions, this season has taught us that it’s dangerous to make any.”

“After losing a derby in the Coppa Italia, Milan immediately went behind against Lazio, but they had the strength, the spirit, not to give up,” he went on.

“By contrast,” Adani said, “Inter had emerged from their ‘crisis’ of February and March by finding their rhythm again, but in Bologna they lacked the right attitude after Arnautovic’s equalizer.”

“Radu’s sensational error that cost them the knockout blow was not an isolated episode,” he added, “but the product of an hour played badly, without the necessary concentration and patience.”

He suggested that Inter will have to react “With the self-belief of a team who know they’re strong and have been on a good path, which began with Spalletti and then continued under Conte and now Inzaghi.”

“Udinese are in a great moment of form,: he continued, “but Inter must feel confident in the own superiority – a new setback after Bologna would be disappointing.”
