Inter captain Samir Handanovic is set to start for the Nerazzurri in this evening’s Serie A clash away to Udinese.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the captain’s condition will be assessed before the match but that the plan is for him to play against the Bianconeri.

Handanovic had missed Wednesday’s clash with Bologna due to an abdominal problem which had shown up just hours before the match, and has been working to recover in time to face Udinese.

The 37-year-old did not participate in a full training session, but it is reported that he should be ready to start this evening’s match, subject to final checks on the condition of his muscular injury in the team hotel before the match.

Handanovic’s deputy Andrei Radu had a torrid time filling in for the Slovenian against Bologna, making the error that saw the Rossoblu find a late winner, and the team are aiming to avoid giving him the same responsibility against Udinese.
