Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is looking forward to getting back on the pitch to try and get back to winning ways against Udinese this evening in Serie A.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN ahead of the match, the 30-year-old emphasized that the team are keen to put Wednesday’s shock 2-1 loss to Bologna behind them by trying to beat the Bianconeri.

Inter suffered a very damaging blow to their title hopes in the form of Wednesday’s loss to the Rossoblu, their fourth of the season and a result which saw control in the title race shift to city rivals AC Milan.

However, the Nerazzurri have had little time to dwell on that match as they immediately get back to it against an Udinese side who will be tough for them to beat but can represent an opportunity to get their confidence and momentum back.

De Vrij is happy to be back in action so soon, stating that “Maybe it’s better that after Wednesday there’s another match straight away. We’re extremely fired up to get a result.”
