Inter striker Lautaro Martinez feels that the team showed their response to the loss against Bologna on Wednesday to beat Udinese this evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after the match, the Argentine stressed how the Nerazzurri showed their ability to work for the result as a collective by taking three points away from Friuli.

Wednesday’s loss to Bologna will have raised serious questions about Inter’s mental strength and their title credentials under adversity.

However, they produced something of a response to see off a tough Udinese side, even after the home side got a goal back in the second half and began to put them under pressure.

There is still a lot of work left to do, but Martinez feels that the team have shown their grit and character as well as their quality to get the result that they cam for against Udinese.

He called the match”Three points of suffering, of grit. We played the match we wanted to against a tough, aggressive team. We’re happy because we’re still keeping pace.”

Asked whether playing with the pressure of the title race with city rivals AC Milan is difficult, he replied “No, we just have to think about the next match and win. That’s what we have to do.”

“After the defeat in Bologna we said to ourselves that we had to be more of a team,” he added, “we’re all part of the collective and aiming for the same goal.”

“I don’t know who the favourite is,” he said of the title race against the Rossoneri, “they’re in the lead, we have to come back in it.”

“Let’s think about ourselves, because we have important points to play for,” he added.
