Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni could already be fit in time to make his return to action in time for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Empoli on Friday.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 23-year-old’s physical condition is being monitored one day at a time and that he is likely to be available for next week’s Coppa Italia final against Juventus.

Bastoni dropped out of the squad for last Wednesday’s Serie A clash with Bologna after picking up a strain to his calf, and missed out on that match as well as on yesterday’s match against Udinese.

The 23-year-old is still not back in training, and given the nature of the problem he is being observed and evaluated day-by-day to determine when he will be able to return.

However, the defender could already be recovered in time to face Empoli, and should be ready to face the Bianconeri next week.
