Inter are set to hold the decisive round of contract extension talks with Ivan Perisic on May 23.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that a new deal being agreed with the 33-year-old is probable.

The Nerazzurri have been at the negotiating table with Perisic and his representatives since the start of February, with the club keen to extend his stay beyond the end of his current contract expiring at the end of June.

No agreement has yet been found, with the player seeking wages of €5 million net per season and the club ready to offer around €4 million net per season, having already invested heavily in the wages for other contract extensions.

However, the will on both sides is to get an agreement over the line on a new deal, and the conclusive talks are on the horizon one way or the other.

Once the team has finished with the final stretch in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, the club will hold the decisive round of talks.
