Inter are set to offer wingback Ivan Perisic a new one-year deal worth a net of €5 million per season, with an option of a further season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who report that the club and player are close to coming together on an agreement for a new deal which should arrive at the end of the season.

Inter have been in contract talks with Perisic and his representatives since the start of February, though there have been delays and distractions coming from the team’s up-and-down form on the pitch.

However, the will is to get a new deal over the line, and the club are just about ready to meet the 33-year-old’s economic demands of wages worth €5 million net per season.

Where once it had looked all but certain that Perisic would depart at the end of the campaign, his performances have convinced the club to make a push to keep him on for another season, with the option of one more after that.
