Italian journalist Luca Marchetti feels that Inter are hurt by their inability to make the best of the opportunities that they create this season.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Marchetti highlighted the Nerazzurri’s difficulties with closing out matches after their 2-1 win over Udinese, and suggested that they have real problems being clinical with their chances.
Creating dangerous opportunities has rarely been a problem for the Nerazzurri this season, although they have also squandered a volume of these which has made life unnecessarily difficult for themselves at times.
More than simply the missed chances, however, has been the inopportune moments at which the profligate finishing has been a problem for the team.
Marchetti feels that this inconsistency in front of goal is one of the outstanding problems that the Nerazzurri have had all season.
Looking back on the closing stages of the win over Udinese, Marchetti remarked that “Even in their moment of suffering there were opportunities that Inter had and did not exploit, and that was the real problem for them.”
“They didn’t close our the match,” he added.
