Italian journalist Maurizio Compagnoni feels that Inter have struggled in moments where the pressures has been on them this season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Compagnoni looked back on the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over Udinese, and suggested that they looked to be rattled in the closing stages when they had to hold onto a one-goal lead.

The Nerazzurri did see out the three points against Udinese, but in the end it was less comfortable than they would have liked, especially considering that they had gone in to halftime 2-0 up after a solid first-half performance.

While imposing themselves on matches and setting the tempo has rarely been a problem in moments without pressure, Compagnoni feels that when the dynamic becomes more adverse the team struggle.

Inter will not want to see any of their three remaining matches finish the way that their clash with Udinese did, with the opponent pushing for an equalizer with the wind in their sails.

“In some situations it reminded me of the match against Bologna,” Compagnoni said, “in the first 25 minutes the Nerazzurri dominated and played great football, here they dominated in the first half and found the two-goal advantage.”

“Then it seemed that they were affected by nerves,” he went on. “The feeling is that the Nerazzurri feel the pressure when the result is in the balance, when it’s not in the balance they’re in total control.”
