Former Torino defender Massimo Brambati feels that however the season ends, it has been an important experience in the growth of Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Brambati highlighted the fact that the 46-year-old is only now finding what it is like to coach at a team with constant pressure at the top, and will have gained from the experience.

Inzaghi arrived at Inter last summer with a significant reputation based on his more than five years in charge at Lazio, with whom he had won the Coppa Italia, reached the Champions League round of sixteen, and even pushed for the Scudetto.

However, taking over at the Nerazzurri immediately after they had won the Serie A title in fairly dominant fashion was an entirely different kind of challenge for the coach.

Brambati feels that while things have not all gone smoothly for Inzaghi, he has taken an important step forward based on this season’s experience.

“He has never been in a situation like this, one where he’s fighting for the Scudetto,” he said of the coach. “He’s gaining experience now.”

“Inter play good football,” he went on, “though they’ve gone through a period that could have been managed better, had they had a coach with more experience.”
