Inter are set to agree a contract extension with wingback Ivan Perisic by the end of the month.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the player and club should work out the new deal by the end of May.

Perisic’s current deal runs out at the end of June, but the Nerazzurri have been pushing to extend his stay at the club especially given the form that he has been showing in recent months.

The 33-year-old is asking for a two-year deal worth €6 million net per season, while the club are currently offering €4 million net per season plus add-ons.

The Nerazzurri are mindful of the fact the reducing their wage bill is imperative in the summer, but renewing with Perisic is considered a priority and they will do everything they can to convince him.

For his part, the player wants to play for an ambitious team that has Champions League football next season, and with no offers of this nature having arrived from other clubs he is ready to extend with Inter.
