Inter and Ivan Perisic are set to hold decisive contract talks at the end of the season, with an agreement likely.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the will of both the club and the player is for Perisic to extend his stay at the Nerazzurri, likely by two more seasons.

There’s still some distance between the Nerazzurri and Perisic, as the club has the overall reduction of the wage bill as a priority on its agenda for the summer and has not yet made an offer that satisfies the 33-year-old’s wage demands.

However, this should be something that can be overcome over the course of the talks, as the player’s preference is to agree a new deal and stay at Inter.

Where it had previously looked as though an exit was likely for Perisic this summer, now there is optimism that an agreement will be reached to keep him at Inter.
