Ivan Perisic expects Inter’s sporting project to be competitive next season in order to extend his contract with the club.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Croat will base his decision about his future on whether he feels that the Nerazzurri can be competitive for trophies.

Perisic has been aiming to continue playing at a high level after the end of next season, with his ambition being to be at a club competing for a league title in a top five European league as well as in the Champions League.

The 33-year-old will consider the prospects of the Nerazzurri and will ask for assurances that the plans are to keep the team strong enough to continue fighting for the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia and to reach the knockouts of the Champions League.

Should he feel that the Nerazzurri’s sporting project is strong enough to continue on the path of the past few seasons, he will be ready to agree a new deal with the club.
