Robin Gosens could make his first start for Inter in Friday’s Serie A clash with Empoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 27-year-old is the favourite to start on the left ahead of Ivan Perisic for the clash.

Gosens has yet to make his first start for the Nerazzurri since arriving at the club in January, partly due to injury but especially since the form of Perisic has made him difficult to displace.

The German has shown flashes of his quality, having assisted a goal against Salernitana and scored off the bench in the Coppa Italia against AC Milan.

However, so far he has not yet been used from the start by Simone Inzaghi, who has continued to trust Ivan Perisic in the role.

Against Empoli, however, Gosens looks set for his first start in an Inter shirt as the coach looks to freshen up his team.
