Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is set to leave his club during the summer transfer window if Thomas Tuchel remains as head coach, and a return to Inter would be his first choice.

This according to reports in UK media, via FCInter1908, who report that the Belgian will not remain with the Champions League holders unless Tuchel parts ways with the club as he is not in the German coach’s plans.

Things have not gone well for Lukaku in his return to Chelsea, as the 28-year-old has failed to settle in or find form playing under Tuchel.

The poor stylistic fit between the striker and coach has been part of the reason for Lukaku’s lack of form, and he would want to stay at the club and give it another go next season should the German depart.

However, should Tuchel remain as Chelsea head coach, the Belgian would aim to depart, with a return to the Nerazzurri his preferred destination while city rivals AC Milan are also linked.
