Lautaro Martinez is the likeliest candidate for a summer sale at Inter with the club bracing for the departure of a big name player.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Argentine is likelier to be cashed in on than Nicolo Barella, Milan Skriniar, or Alessandro Bastoni.

The Nerazzurri have set strict and ambitious financial targets for the summer transfer window, which they aim to finish with a net profit of €60-70 million from the market, and to slash the wage bill by 10-15%.

Considering new signings will also arrive, the sale of a top player seems all but inevitable, though it is not certain who will be the one to be sacrificed.

In the club’s thinking, however, Martinez is the least indispensable of the players who would fetch a massive transfer fee, and so they would be more willing to part with him than Barella, Skriniar, or Bastoni.

There was significant transfer interest in the 24-year-old last summer from big clubs in the Premier League and La Liga, and this has not gone away.

At the moment, Arsenal and Manchester United are the teams reportedly keenest on Martinez’s signature, and the Nerazzurri could be ready to listen to offers for him.
